Status of In-person Activities in the District
Currently, the District has some in-person activities taking place in the school buildings. At the August 24, 2020 School Board Meeting the Greenfield School Board authorized the following Greenfield High School fall sports programs to participate in their respective Woodland Conference seasons: Girl’s/Boys’ Volleyball, Girl’s Swim and Dive, Girl’s Tennis, Girl’s/Boys’ Cross County. As of Thursday, September 24, 2020, none of the GHS fall athletic programs have experienced COVID-related isolations or quarantines with student-athletes or coaches.
Small groups of students have been attending small group instruction at the elementary, middle, and high schools and there have not been any positive cases among the students attending these small group sessions. Teachers, support staff, and administrators are working from the buildings each day and since, August 24, 2020 there have been four (4) positive cases among adult staff members and three (3) adults who are or have been under a quarantine order due to exposure to a positive case either at home, at school or in their community.
Finally, the Greenfield Park and Recreation Department is running an extended Kids Connection program to provide a child care program for Greenfield families with elementary school students. The program is run out of Elm Dale Elementary School and to date, there have not been any positive cases with the children attending the program or Park and Rec staff who are providing care for our children.
