Role: The role of a school occupational therapist (OT) is to support students who receive special education or Section 504 services with fine motor needs, visual motor needs, sensory needs, and self-help skills so they can optimally participate in the school environment. The OT uses direct and indirect services, assistive technology, and adaptations/modifications to support the student and collaborate with teachers/parents in order to implement the most effective plan.
