Volunteer opportunities exist in school classrooms and libraries, as well as through participation in school and district committees, focus groups, and parent organizations. Volunteers provide supervision on field trips, plan school community events, offer fundraising and donation support, and actively engage in classrooms to support student learning.

Qualifications of a volunteer:
- Approved background check conducted by the district
- Follow the volunteer code of conduct
- Display a positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with students

Volunteer Code of Conduct
- Immediately upon arrival, I will sign in at the main office.
- I will wear volunteer identification provided by the school, and return the identification to the office upon departure.
- I will only use adult bathroom facilities.
- I will not take a student to the bathroom.
- I agree to never be alone with individual students who are not under the supervision of a teacher or school authorities.
- It is not a volunteer's job to discipline a student. It is acceptable to stop unsafe or unkind behavior. School personnel must be informed immediately if any discipline issues arise.
- I agree to not exchange telephone numbers, home addresses, e-mail addresses or any other home directory information with students for any purpose unless it is required as part of my role as a volunteer. (ex. pen pals)
- I will maintain confidentiality outside of school and I will immediately report to teachers and/or school administrators any concerns that I may have related to student welfare or safety.
- I will not disclose, use, or disseminate student photographs or personal information about students, self, or others.
- I agree only to do what is in the best personal and education interest of every child with whom I come into contact.
