New for the 25-26 School Year!
If your student(s) had assigned transportation routes within the School District of Greenfield last school year (24-25), they will automatically be assigned transportation routes for the 25-26 school year. You will NOT have to “opt in” when completing the annual Census Update to be assigned a stop.
Transportation Information will be available to view in the Infinite Campus Student & Parent Portals on, or shortly after, August 21st. To find your student(s)’ transportation information, login to the Portal, click on the menu in the upper left-hand corner, click on “More” at the bottom of the menu, and click on “Transportation”. You should see both AM & PM bus route numbers, bus stop locations, and pick-up & drop-off times.
Other Important Information
Between August 20th and the first day of school, stop times & locations may be adjusted to accommodate newly added riders. It is important that you check this information the day before school starts to ensure you have the correct bus stop location and bus stop time.
Please note that during the first couple weeks of school, bus routes may run late as both students and drivers are learning the routes & stops. Please be patient and stay with your child at the bus stop until the bus arrives. By late September all bus routes should be running on time.
Students should be at their bus stop 5-10 minutes prior to their stop time throughout the year. The schools will notify families through either an Infinite Campus or Parent Square message if a bus is running more than 15 minutes late.

Eligible students who did not receive an assigned stop can request transportation by using this form: Bus Service Request Form. (this link will be accessible once routes are posted).
Additionally, students who are currently assigned a transportation route who may have moved WITHIN the district/home school boundaries, or elementary students who are newly enrolled at a child care center within their home school boundaries, may also request a transportation route change by completing the form.
If your child has a route assigned but does not need one, please let us know by completing the form as well! The District is better able to coordinate available seats on buses when we know who really needs them.
Please understand that various considerations are made when assigning safe and efficient routes for your child(ren); therefore, requests for home stops (unless for student IEP) or to move currently assigned stops are not allowed, unless the request involves a change of address, a daycare request in the school boundary, or is clearly a routing error.
Please review Eligibility Requirements below before requesting a bus or route change.
|
Newly enrolled Greenfield Resident students may request transportation when completing their enrollment registration forms. Please allow up to three business days for a route to be assigned. Once available, the route will be viewable in the Infinite Campus portal.

If you have questions or concerns regarding inconsistent stop times, or need an estimated time of arrival for your stop, please contact First Student directly at 414-422-2020.

Student expectations do not change from the classroom to the school bus. Students are expected to respect each other, the driver, and behave in a courteous manner in order to provide a safe environment for everyone on the bus. Disciplinary action may be referred to the school principal when necessary, resulting in parental involvement and potential removal from the route. Please read through the following tips with your child to remain safe on their ride: Tips for a Safer Bus Ride. Additional safety materials are available on the WI DOT website: Education for School Bus Drivers and Riders. The District transportation policy can be found on BoardDocs under Policies: Transportation Policy 8600.
|
Safety is of the utmost concern for the School District. At the elementary level, if your child will not be taking the bus home, the school must be notified 60 minutes prior to the end of the school day by contacting your child’s school office.
Students are to be at their bus stop 5-10 minutes prior to their scheduled pick up time.
The student and their behavior is the responsibility of the parent/guardian until they board the school bus in the morning, and after the rider is delivered to their designated stop location in the afternoon. Students are to exit the bus only at their designated bus stop location.
|
The School District Crisis Plan and First Student Crisis Plan will dictate all procedures in the event of a school emergency. Please bear in mind, there are many types of emergencies from a sick child on the bus to a specific school threat. First and foremost, it is the responsibility of the adults who are present to protect and provide safety to all students involved. When necessary, parent notification via Infinite Campus school messenger (email/phone) will be sent as soon as practical. In the event that a parent must be contacted directly, the parent/guardian is responsible for maintaining personal and emergency contact information on their Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. Infinite Campus information can be found on the District Website: Using Infinite Campus.

Amber warning lights will be used as a cautionary indicator that the bus will be coming to a stop and will be activating its RED warning lights. |

Drivers are required to stop whether the stop sign of the bus is out or not [Wis. Stat., 346.48(1)].
