Please note that if your child is attending our fully digital semester, they stay the same until the end of semester one. These changes are only for students in the phased-in model. All phased-in students will be returning to school.
When will my child come back? Are all students coming back at once?
- We will start the first three days back (October 7.8,9) with 1/3 of the students each day so we have more time and space to learn and practice daily routines and procedures and get the students settled back into being in school. You should be receiving something from your child's teacher today about the day your child will be attending.
- All elementary phased-in students will return to school five (5) days per week beginning Monday, October 12th.
Will busing and lunch be the same?
- The bus will run its route beginning on Wednesday, October 7th.
- It is very important that your child follows the same arrival and dismissal plan you set up every day for school. If they are to take the bus to and from school on regular days, they should start this on their very first day. We will be teaching safety procedures so they will need to be there to learn them.
- Lunch is also available starting October 7th. We have the students eating as class groups in the cafeteria, gym, art room, and music room.
What will drop-off and pick-up look like?
- We will have drop off lanes for the morning beginning at 8:25 a.m. We will have a pickup lane process for the end of the day as we cannot have families come into the building. Please see the attachments and the video for instructions.
- NOTE: We will not have families park and walk their child to the doors in the morning. We will have staff out at the drop-off lanes to help students get to where they need to be.
Arrival and Dismissal Information
Does this mean the kids will be back every day no matter what?
- We cannot guarantee that we will have zero cases of COVID. Please know that we have many safeguards in place, we will have everyone properly wear their masks, follow good hand washing and sanitization protocols, and keep classes together. We cannot guarantee that children will be six (6) feet apart at all times.
- Please know that there may be times when students will need to be picked up due to symptoms, or if classmates or staff that they are in close contact with test positive for COVID.
- Be sure you have a backup plan in case this happens. More information will come soon but know that if a classmate or teacher your child works with tests positive for COVID, there will be quarantining. Also, this may happen at night and we would not know until morning. We are going to do our absolute best to let you know as soon as possible.
