Sixth graders take six weeks of exploratory Spanish and German.  At the end of the sixth grade year these students chose their language preference for both their seventh and eighth grade years.  In seventh grade students have a trimester or twelve weeks of Spanish or German.  Upon successful completion of this trimester, students continue their language study every day in eighth grade.  Successful seventh and eighth grade language study is the equivalent of the first year of High School German or Spanish.
