Art Education - 6th Grade

Sixth grade students study art daily for six weeks.  At this level the curriculum provides experience in both two and three-dimentional work such as drawing, painting, and clay.  Students will also keep sketchbooks for notes, journaling, and sketching.  Studies of famous artists, art from other cultures, and art criticism will round their art experience. 

Art Education - 7th Grade

Students in Art Education 7 will design an image that reflects their personality.  They will also complete a three dimensional form utilizing various construction forms such as armatures, draping, carving, score, and slip.

Art Education - 8th Grade

Art I will allow students to explore materials used to create two-dimensional art.  Students will use processes such as painting, drawing, praintmaking, and mixed media to create artwork.  Completed artwork will demonstrate knowledge of composition, color, and technique.
Art II will allow students to explore materials used to create three-dimensional art.  Ceramics and sculpture will be the focus of this class.  Completed artwork will demonstrate knowledge of three-dimensional art techniques, design, and surface treatments.
