The Greenfield High School Chess Club would like to extend an invitation to any students interested in chess to join chess club. Prior chess experience is not necessary. The club is for anyone interested in chess including beginning chess players all the way to students wishing to compete as part of the Greenfield Hustlin’ Hawks Chess Team.
Research has shown that playing chess will help students in many areas including problem solving, memory, and concentration.
Students in Chess Club also have an opportunity to compete in the Metro Milwaukee High School Chess League. The Chess League includes 18 area high schools. Each team has eight matches and the season ends with a conference tournament.
Chess Club currently meets on Fridays after school until 3:30 pm. Many Chess Club members come during off seasons of the other sports and activities they are involved in.
