Dear Friends,
As an individual who has spent 25 of my 27 years in education in the School District of Greenfield, I truly enjoy the opportunity to work alongside the students, staff, parents and community members in my current role. I have had the honor of working in Greenfield as a high school chemistry teacher and coach, a high school assistant principal, an elementary principal and currently, for the past six years, as the Superintendent of Schools. I am exceptionally proud of our district and our community and I wholeheartedly believe that the children and the members of the Greenfield Learning Community are exceptional individuals.
As a Learning Community, we are very proud of the rich diversity that ranks us as the 16th most diverse school district out of the 429 districts in Wisconsin. Our school district educates 3,500 students in four elementary schools, one middle school and one large, comprehensive high school. In 2014, the School District of Greenfield engaged in a strategic planning process. Seventy members of our greater Learning Community worked collaboratively to answer two key questions: “What do we want for our children?” and “What do we need to do to move from our current status to what we want for all of our children?”
Based on key feedback from our Learning Community, the District developed a new mission statement:
The School District of Greenfield believes all learning begins with meaningful relationships. Our mission is to develop learners who can apply knowledge and think innovatively as a result of engaging in rigorous and relevant opportunities.
This shared purpose binds our Learning Community together and focuses our efforts on preparing each student for college, career, leadership and life.
Sincerely,
Lisa
